Saratoga National Historical Park — An unplanned detour, but it felt impossible to skip. I stood on the actual ground where the 1777 American victory convinced France to formally join the war — arguably the turning point of the whole conflict.

After weeks of walking through where the Revolution began, in Lexington and Boston, it was strange and moving to stand where it truly turned. See the Battle of Saratoga. A fitting final stop before heading home.
