William Lloyd Garrison

The radical abolitionist whose newspaper The Liberator employed writers like William C. Nell. He delivered his first major anti-slavery speech at Park Street Church on the Freedom Trail in 1829, and later sharply criticized Lincoln over colonization and the limits of the Emancipation Proclamation.
